President's Message
The economic turmoil last year led by the
subprime crisis in America relented to financial distress, and our club's activities were not spared from such setbacks.
Year 2010 resonated with optimism as the global
economy emerges into an expansionary business cycle with prudence. AUC will ride along in this vibrant outlook in
tandem, promissing an abudance of social and professional networking opportunities set out to establish business and career
links amongst our alumni.
My two year stint in my last capacity as a consultant
in South Korea offered me an opportunity to plant a seed (AUC branch) in the Korean pennisula despite it being
a nation that speaks little English. Pictures are available at our AUC yahoo group taken at our events held
at Itewon, the "American" town of South Korea.
Our events are still shy in the highly intellectual,
or professionally stimulating arena, but will persist to compromise with exotic ambience within the premises of our events.
Representatives of alumnae in our mixed has recently
expanded far and wide extending from conservative colleges in New England, sizable institutions in the mid-west, to universities
of the sunny states in the west.
Now at 2010, AUC celebrates its exact 60 years
of history with its origin tracing back in 1950; the year a handful of US graduates in Singapore decided to glamorise US education
in our country. I personally take pride in carrying this tradition and to continue this journey keeping the club' torch
ablaze.
